AgileCommunity proposal makes available a fantastic mobile tool named StaffUp to bring any airport relevant information and related KPI on Android and IOS smartphone to empower any airport stakeholder.

AgileCommunity let any sized airport to provide mobile working and situation awareness to all airport stakeholders.

StaffUp is the Community App implementing the AgileCommunity concept. StaffUp has unique features that allow:

  • use all relevant modules of the AOSnice platform in embedded mode, or rely on systems from other manufacturers through a decoupling layer;
  • guarantee controlled access with respect for roles and operational skills. These capabilities make it possible to distribute the APP to all airport stakeholders in complete safety;
  • use the responsive webapps already available directly in the APP container;
  • implement in an extremely fast way new interactive web functions aimed at creating new operating services exploiting the enormous power of the available basic services of the Airport Operation Database;
  • enable the exploitation of existing technologies by hiding their relative complexity to users;
  • have a sophisticated configuration environment to incorporate new features in the form of web apps.

Moreover, StaffUp can easily be mounted on any Airport Management System just updating an uncoupling layer aimed at retrieving data from airport systems. Also hybrid scenarios can be approached where some AOSnice modules are used together with other relevant legacy systems.

All this was also born from the belief that the smaller the airports, the greater the technological support to the operators must be to increase awareness and to maximize mobile operations by limiting the need to move to offices as much as possible.

Leveraging the power of the Community App, an airport can open a new era creating a mobile environment to simplify ground operations.

This means that the app can become a real operational tool enabling the possibility to act and manage flights, resources and tasks.

In particular, the App can represent the ideal environment where critical ad urgent activities such as the following can be carried out:

  • Flight management: following A-CDM operational needs, the app can present flights, events and can let enabled staff to enter the TOBT of the flights in charge.
  • Real time services planning and management: the mobile app can host resource planning results letting operational staff to see tasks in charge and manage the task life cycle. Any task in charge can be started and stopped so that the planning tool can have real time information on task progress and properly re-allocate staff in coming tasks.
  • Mobile gate management: sometimes it is needed for airport staff to change gates associated to flights due to intervention made without an appropriate authorization process or caused by unexpected events.

Of course transforming the Community App in a pervasive operational tool, it is strongly recommended the appropriate usage of the User Manager tool to define privileges on tasks and resources reflecting the operational role of each user.

High Tech All In One

The app ensures that airlines, airport Authorities, Ground Handlers, Airport Tenants and any other stakeholders are involved in the “common view” across the airport site bringing a fragmented airport workforce together, fosters data sharing culture, instils a sense of positive competition and improve service quality for passengers.

In particular, using the community app any sized airport can expect:

  • an airport campus is a fragmented and fluid environment, but the Airport Community app can represent a common shared tool to enable a strong collaborative approach among all stakeholders;
  • easy access to real-time data. Even in modern airports still now in some areas there are people using printed lists of flight schedules and radio communications that cannot ensure the real time knowledge of real airport status;
  • creating positive competition among handling agents and airlines;
  • StaffUp helps to improve business performance. In a way, this app has flattened the hierarchy and broken down barriers
  • airport Community app could give thousands of staff the ability to answer questions coming from passengers very easily
  • the app can quickly become the primary channel for cross campus communication reducing cost of other communication infrastructures

Low Cost solution strongly aimed at managing shaky traffic by using a price per passenger:

  • Higher is the airport business, better is the position to pay a little bit more
  • Traffic disruptions or floating along the seasons can be absorbed with a dynamic price
  • Traffic data automatically caught from the system database
